I+K (Part-1)

(Disclaimer: This was one of my first attempts at writing cheesy romance one-shots and I wrote it around 2017. So it's not me at my best and it's definitely not PG-13. If you get scandalized easily, please refrain from reading it. This isn't based on a real life experience, obviously.)

‘I looked at the scene unfolding in front of my eyes, stunned. The boy’s eyes widened and Wes turned, his arms outstretched, ready to shoot the intruder witnessing the crime. The gun fell from his hands as an expression of despair swept across his face.

“What is going on here?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.’

“Okay…..she did not just ask what was going on did she? Come on! Is she blind? I mean girl, your boyfriend is holding a gun!! An effin’ gun. Obviously he's about to murder some poor victim. Does it look in anyway as if he's going to suddenly bust out some moves from a  cheer sequence for your school sports team using the gun as a pom-pom? Hell no kid!” Kai ranted, looking peeved.

“Hey, calm down. It’s just a story. There is no need for you to get so worked up over it. The character is shocked, she’s allowed a dumb dialogue or two.” I muttered, scrolling down the page and continuing with the rest of the story.

Two seconds into the book I realized, Kai was still glaring at the side of my head. I turned with a sigh.

My kryptonite was Kai’s upset face. And the idiot knew it and did everything he could to take advantage of that fact.

“What now? You won't ever read a book on Wattpad again? You are going to never read a book again? Or is it something like you are never ever going to read words again?” I groaned with exasperation.

He flashed me an innocent look before pulling me into his lap. It should be noted here that since I had come to the library right after school had ended, I was still in the school uniform along with my big backpack and with a laptop on my lap.

So technically, when he pulled me into his lap he ended up getting a whole pile of heavy stuff plonked on him all at once.

He didn't look bothered by all the extra weight as he sneaked his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder, letting out a satisfied sigh.

“Now we can continue reading.” he murmured into the collar of my shirt.

Despite the uniform not leaving any of my skin exposed I still felt the hotness of his breath. It sent a discernible shiver down my spine.

He noticed it and instead of teasing me about the effect he had on me, he let out a low laugh and snuggled closer, pressing a kiss to my jawline.

I inhaled sharply at his action, finally realizing what he was trying to do. “You little tease, you promised to read a book with me every other weekend.” I grumbled, but nevertheless abandoned my laptop to the library floor along with my bag, before turning in his lap to face him.

He flashed me a triumphant look, pleased that I was giving in. I snorted, but that didn't stop me from leaning down for a kiss.

It was just a peck, I knew it drove him crazy when I let the anticipation build and didn't let him have whatever he wanted in the end, especially when it came to kisses.

He knew I was a ‘no touchy feely’ type of person and me showing my affection physically was few and far between. And me using that fact to tease him got to him more than he let on.

(A/N:hey, no r-rated stuff to be imagined here. Get your head outta that gutter)

He’d once told me that the effect he had on me was nothing compared to the effect I had on him.

He frowned and let out a noise of displeasure from the back of his throat.

“Isa, it's not funny.” he whined.

I laughed at his childish behavior but took his chin in my hands and pressed a kiss to his lips.

It started with a series of innocent pecks but soon evolved into something more passionate.

His lips felt like fire beneath mine, as he moved them against mine. I felt my stomach twist and come alive with a gazillion butterflies.

It always felt like this, since the first time we'd kissed. And the feeling had intensified tenfold as the time had passed.

I gently bit his lip, knowing that it would drive him crazy. And it did, I heard it when he let out a long, low groan.

A second later, he pulled away, leaving me wanting more. I pouted at him but he shook his head and rested it in the crook of my neck catching his breath.

“One more kiss, pwease!” I begged in my most epic baby voice that even my strict grandfather had never said no to.

But Kai was an exception apparently, because he shook his and didn't even raise his head to meet my eye.

“Hey, what's wrong? Kai?” I asked, mildly concerned. Our roles had suddenly been reversed and that surprised me.

I pulled away from him, ducking my head to see his face clearly. His pale face was bright red and he looked embarrassed about something.

“You alright? Do you have a fever or something?” I wondered out loud, touching his forehead but it felt as warm as mine.

“Ah….I...ne..need to go home right now. I'll see you later. Please Isa. I promise to come by later and finish reading the book with you. Okay.” he muttered, unconsciously biting his lip.

I nodded, a bit concerned but climbed off his lap. Was he upset about something I'd done? I tried to rewind to the events of the past few minutes thinking what I could possibly have done wrong to chase him away like this? Did he find out that I was the one who ate the last mars bar when I was at his house last week?

He stood up quickly and straightened his shirt still looking flustered. And started gathering his stuff quickly.

“Did I do something wrong?” I asked, worried.

He looked at me, astonished that I looked scared.

He sent me a comforting smile before slinging his backpack across his back.

“Don't worry. You did nothing wrong….. it's just. I really, really need a cold shower right now. Because if I stay another minute with you, I will want to do unspeakable things to you in this very place and you will kill me for it.”

With that he rushed out from the rows of books that had hidden us for so long.

It took a whole minute after he’d left for the full meaning of his words to dawn on me. And when it did, my breath caught in my throat and had me choking on air with disbelief and shock.

After I left the library and reached home, my mother got a call from a very concerned sounding librarian who was making sure I was okay after I'd left the library in a haste, looking  ‘as red as a ripe tomato’ in the librarian’s own words.

(Oh hey. Thank you for reading through that. In hindsight, it is rather cringey. Also, it doesn't portray consent very well, and I apologize for that. I'm sorry if you were scandalized anyway, but I told you so. ^-^)
